IALFM Prayer Times – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how IALFM Prayer Times (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses information. The app is published by the Islamic Association of Lewisville and Flower Mound (IALFM). We designed this app to collect as little data as possible while providing accurate Salah times, announcements, and optional prayer notifications.

1. Information We Collect

1) Device & App Information (Non‑Personal)

We collect basic technical information such as:

  • Device model & operating system version
  • App version
  • Anonymous instance identifiers
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token used only to deliver notifications

This information cannot identify you personally.

2) Firebase Analytics (Anonymous Usage Metrics)

We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous, aggregated usage data such as:

  • Which screens are viewed
  • App feature usage
  • Performance and stability metrics

Firebase Analytics does NOT collect your name, email, phone number, precise location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or any personally identifiable information.

3) Firebase Crashlytics (Anonymous Crash Reports)

We use Firebase Crashlytics to understand and fix crashes. Crash reports may include:

  • Device model & OS version
  • Anonymous crash logs & stack traces
  • App version installed

No personal information is collected.

4) Timezone Only (No GPS Location)

To calculate Salah times, the app reads your device’s timezone. We do not collect or access GPS location. Weather data uses a fixed Dallas-area coordinate, not your physical location.

5) Remote Config & Announcements

The app fetches non-personal announcements and configuration values from Firebase Remote Config. This data is not tied to any individual user.

6) Notifications (Opt‑In)

If you enable notifications:

  • Prayer reminders are scheduled locally on your device
  • A Firebase token is used solely to deliver notifications
  • Notification preferences are stored only on your device

7) Local Preferences & Offline Files

The following items are stored only on your device:

  • Alert and notification settings
  • Text size and UI preferences
  • Offline prayer schedule files

8) Network Requests

The app may request:

  • Weather data from Open‑Meteo
  • Prayer schedule updates from Firebase Storage
  • External links (Instagram, Facebook, Mohid donations)

These services operate under their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

  • No name, email, or phone number
  • No account or login information
  • No precise or background location
  • No contacts, photos, or device files
  • No advertising ID or ad identifiers
  • No payment information

3. How We Use Information

We use collected data solely to:

  • Display accurate Salah times
  • Deliver optional notifications
  • Improve app performance and reliability
  • Maintain secure and stable app functionality

We do not sell, rent, share, or use data for targeted advertising.

4. Third‑Party Services Used

  • Firebase Analytics – anonymous usage metrics
  • Firebase Crashlytics – crash reporting
  • Firebase Messaging – notification delivery
  • Firebase Remote Config – announcements and configuration
  • Firebase Storage – prayer schedule updates
  • Open‑Meteo – weather data
  • Mohid – donation processing (outside the app)
  • Instagram/Facebook – external links

5. Data Security

We use reputable service providers (Google Firebase, Apple, Android) and reasonable technical safeguards to protect non‑personal data. No sensitive personal data is stored or transmitted.

6. Your Choices

  • Enable or disable notifications in system settings
  • Choose whether to follow external links
  • Uninstall the app to delete all local app data

7. Children’s Privacy

IALFM Prayer Times is a general‑audience religious utility app. It does not collect personal data or use personalized advertising.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date.
